Villa Aretusi:
a unique wedding
location in Italy
A classical piece of aristocratic architecture, surrounded by greenery. The park is lined with pathways and features a fountain and centuries-old woodland trees.
A stunning Italian wedding villa in a natural environment
In the seventeenth century, the Bolognese artist and intellectual Cesare Aretusi decided that he needed a new place to work. He built his residence on a large expanse of land outside the city of Bologna.
Severely damaged during the Second World War, the Villa has recently been rebuilt according to recommendations made by the Fine Arts Academy. Villa Aretusi has been welcoming guests to the hotel, restaurant, trattoria and banqueting halls since 2008. This beautiful, versatile and aristocratic space offers every form of hospitality, while upholding Bologna's immense culinary heritage and tasteful welcome. Dazzling at dawn and dignified at dusk, this old Italian villa and its monumental gate offers something unique in Bologna and in Italy.
Park and gardens:
the feather in Villa Aretusi's cap.
The park, which looks onto the Basilica of San Luca, is one of Villa Aretusi's proudest features. It surrounds the Villa and lends an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity; it also offers a wonderful, evocative location for weddings and events in Bologna.
The park provides the Villa's guests with an extensive green area, which includes rose gardens, woodland flora, exotic plants and garden paths and terraces, all designed as the perfect backdrop for special events. The Villa's large drawing rooms face directly onto the garden, thereby offering an ideal second option for events in case of uncertain weather.
Expansion and repurposing
We have worked on what Villa Aretusi can offer as a building in order to set our standards ever higher and satisfy our guests' every request.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Various rooms in Villa Aretusi have been expanded, repurposed and refurbished, in order to facilitate new services and to improve the dining opportunities in the hotel. Thus, we have a new dining room and kitchen, while outdoors a park of 14,000 square metres has been realised.
OBJECTIVES
Our goal was to provide our guests with a greater range of services and to improve on those that we already offered. Thus, we have expanded a number of spaces, in keeping with the increased efficiency and exclusivity of the location. We were also determined to enlarge the park, which guests can use freely.
RESULTS
Thanks to all this vital work, Villa Aretusi is now an even more refined, elegant and exclusive location, able to accommodate all guests with the maximum of care and the minimum of fuss. It has enhanced its reputation and established itself even more firmly within the first rank of restaurateurship in Emilia-Romagna.
The project was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, which provided 200,000 euros towards it.
